A message from the president:

As the ski season winds down in New York we are eagerly getting ready for biking. It is time to mount our bike racks and get our bikes serviced. Biking is an excellent cardio activity. It also keeps our legs strong for skiing. In lieu of our next meeting on Thursday, May 15, we will gather once again for Happy Hour at Chilis in Farmingdale, 901 Broadhollow Road, at 5:00 PM. If you plan on attending, please email me to let me know and how many people you will be coming with. I look forward to seeing you there

About our Club

The 50 Plus Ski Club was founded in 1988 to provide skiing and other activities for persons 50+ years of age. Most of our members live in either Nassau or Suffolk Counties with some members living in Westchester, Manhattan, or even farther away. Meetings are generally held once a month except during the summer. The main club activity is skiing but the club arranges other activities for its members, such as bicycling, our primary activity during the off season. In fact, some members do not ski at all, but join us on bike rides, or kayak outings.

Most of our ski trips are midweek when it is less crowded - either a day trip to the Catskill area resorts, or longer week trips to places like Maine, Vermont, or Colorado. Members enjoy the company of one another and appreciate the togetherness that develops on a trip. As we are not an overly large club, you will not get lost in a crowd. Some members take many trips with the club, while others may go on one ski trip a year, or just elect to participate in our bicycle outings.

The 50+ Ski Club is a member of the Metropolitan New York Ski Council MNYSC . As a MNYSC member, we are entitled to various discounts on lift tickets and other events, and can join other member clubs ski trips. These offers are listed on our MNYSC News and Offers page.
